New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation
The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation is the country’s foremost education and awareness organisation. It is a non-for-profit non-government funded organisation promoting awareness of breast cancer, providing information and education, and raising funds to support breast cancer related initiatives including research, scholarships, medical grants etc. The Foundation was specifically established to educate all New Zealand women on the life-saving benefits of early detection and the importance of mammograms.
Our symbol is the ‘pink ribbon’, the international symbol of breast cancer awareness and trademarked to the Foundation in New Zealand. October is International Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Foundation’s major fundraising event. The month is supported by an extensive multi-media campaign, education programme, the sale of pink ribbons through retailers nationwide, and Pink Ribbon Day Street Appeal. ____________________________________________________________

The Leukaemia & Blood Foundation
With a vision to cure and a mission to care, the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation (LBF) is New Zealand’s organisation specifically dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients and their families living with leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and related blood disorders. These diseases can strike any one, of any age, any time and often occur without warning.
The LBF provides patient support through personalised and practical programmes including financial assistance, counselling and support programmes, education and information, advocacy, funding for research and medical equipment.
With the need for these services growing, the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation’s work is only made possible through fundraising activity and the support they receive from individuals, companies, trusts and grants as well as support in kind. The LBF undertakes a range of fundraising and awareness building activities such as Shave for a Cure®, Lunch for Leukaemia, LBF 100 hole Golf Marrowthon®, Leukaemia Appeal Week and World Lymphoma Awareness Day.
